You Deserve Victory
I saw this quote this morning about victory from Winston Churchill, and it spoke to me.
“Victory at all costs, victory despite all terror. Victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival.” -Winston Churchill
So today I want to talk to those of you who may be struggling.
Even if you’re not struggling right now, we all struggle from time to time.
You may be going through immense pain that no one understands.
You feel there is no way out but I want to tell you that you have what it takes to defeat the pain and come out victorious.
You will see a way when there seems to be no way.
You will come out of that valley stronger than you have ever been, and you are going to find healing whenever you need it.
Let me Tell you a Story About Victory
A couple of years ago, a good friend of mine received the most devastating news that left everyone thinking she would never come out in one piece; She was diagnosed with colon cancer and was not expected to survive.
She was in the hospital already and was very sick.
I dropped everything and rushed to her the moment I received the news.
When I got to the hospital, I was surprised by what I saw; She was still smiling, still making jokes, and still optimistic. “I came as fast as I could. I am devastated by what you are going through,” I said.
She told me, “Life doesn’t always have the best things to offer. We have to accept the best as well as the worst that it brings.”
“At least I now know how I am going to win this battle,” she said.
A hundred questions were running through my mind, “How is she going to beat this illness?” “Why is she taking something so deadly this lightly?” “Could it be that she is in denial?” I was confused.
A couple of weeks later I went over to her house to check on her and what I saw will remain with me for years.
My friend was happy and upbeat, and she was giving thanks for all the right things that were happening in her life.
She was telling stories of what she plans to do after beating cancer and talking about all the places she intended to go when the fight was over.
Another one of our friends, who was taking care of her at the time said that the first thing she does each morning is to reassure everyone in the house that her faith is greater than her illness and because of that, victory is certain.
It was about a year later, during one of her monthly checkups, that a miracle happened.
Her doctor said, “I am not quite sure what happened, but the scan doesn’t reveal any tumors or abnormalities. You are a lucky woman.”
Luck or faith?
No one understands but one thing is clear; if you expect victory you will win no matter what you are up against.
Life will sometimes hit you hard on the face and make you feel like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.
But no matter how many times you break or fall, remember that you have what it takes to triumph.
You can rise above those hardships, conquer those fears, and turn your bad situation around because defeat is only made possible by a lack of faith and refusal to fight.
So, don’t stop fighting.
Keep trusting that you are going to make it and continue doing what you are supposed to.
Knowing You Deserve Victory Gets You A Step Closer To What You Want.
The victory you crave is only a step away because you only win when you believe you were meant to win and when you recognize that you can win.
Victory is only made certain by your faith, your thoughts as well as your actions.
If you welcome the notion that you are not going to make it, you make it difficult for your mind to come up with ways of helping you win.
If you listen to comments that you don’t deserve what you are aiming for, you are not going to receive what you want.
Victors are people who exercise their faith in difficult situations because they know that their triumphs are determined by what goes on inside their heads not what others think.
When you are a winner, you let your hopes guide you, you remain optimistic in the face of adversities, and you expect to win.
The fact that you are facing a mountain of troubles does not mean you are not meant for anything greater – because certain problems are meant to refine you, help you refocus, as well as prepare and position you for your breakthrough.
Knowing you deserve triumph helps you believe in yourself when no one else does and it keeps you working on achieving your goals when everyone around you thinks you are aiming too high.
It gives you the confidence you need to take calculated risks when the odds are stacked up against you and experience tremendous wins.
Everything you have been through, all the problems you have faced, all the disappointments you have encountered, and all the tears you have cried are all signs that success is around the corner.
Victory is certain if you only believe.
Seriously, you got this!
